Truth be told, I've been baking my own custom vao-patches on all maps that needed it the most since the beginning of the year. I just couldn't stand playing on flat-lit map when there's literally a tech implemented by Ilja to add more depth - All Kunos maps are properly lit with a vao-patch file and light bounces. For whatever reasons, 98% of the map creators use “improper“ patches: there are multiple files inside the map's folder, the vao do not shade the cars for whatever reasons, some maps have broken vao's. Reasons? Maybe due to fps decrease? GPU taking too long to bake? Optimizations? In my case, I have no issue baking maps with a 3090. Maybe it's all due to GPU/lower pc specs performance. Who knows. I'd love to know more details. I didn't do much research on vao bakery btw. Anyways, for a while now, I wanted to share my vao's to everyone, to get a HUGE step closer to photorealism. My vao's will shade cars, take less space, but will maybe eat fps, idk about that tbh. You tell me!
