It shows the work that goes into creating the different soap box cars and the factors that have to be considered before racing. It shows footage from multiple local races, including how each one is a spectacle with a parade and large crowds. The later part of the film shows the different amenities available for local champions and the final national championship. The Soap Box Derby is a youth soapbox car racing program, which has been run in the United States since 1933. World Championship finals are held each July at Derby Downs in Akron, Ohio.
