Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Gala (known for her hit “Freed From Desire”) has been an independent artist since her first success. After breaking free from a record deal that left her without control over her music, Gala formed her own label in Brooklyn. The PARALLEL LINES video is a collaboration with American animator, TED speaker, and free culture activist Nina Paley. Paley is the creator of the animated musical feature film Sita Sings the Blues, which has been screened in over 200 film festivals and won over 35 international awards ( Berlin International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Independent Spirit Award, New York Critics pick) Her adventures in our broken copyright system led her to produce a series of animated shorts about intellectual freedom. 'Parallel Lines’ tells the story of a couple that drifts apart while living under the same roof. “ I released the song at this time to reach out to all those people who are experiencing similar challenges.
