This tutorial is done in the Overlay Mosaic Crochet Technique Butterfly Lane Chart 1. In this tutorial I will teach you how to crochet this eye catching Mosaic Crochet design. Project ideas, yarn, hook and more info can be found below along with Row start times. Want to buy me a coffee? Consider Donating to me here to support my work and channel: This pattern is worked in a MULTIPLE of 24 4. IN THE ROUND chain ONLY the multiple of 24 and slip stitch to form a ring, begin working the repeat in that same stitch. THIS IS CHART 1 from the Butterfly Lane Chart set. The CHART for this is in my Etsy shop which you can find here, remember you don't need it to work with this video: Anchored Double Crochet video from The Crochet Architect: Multiple of 24 playlist for other designs in this multiple: Mosaic Crochet Multiple of 24: Learn how to mix different multiples in one project: New to Mosaic Crochet, see my full playlist: IN THE ROUND tutorials can be found Here: TO REPEAT THE DESIGN FOR LARGER PROJECTS YOU WILL WORK ROWS 1 THRU 27 AND THEN WORK ROWS 2 THRU 27 AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WOULD LIKE FOR THE PROJECT YOU CHOOSE. If you want to swap Color B for a new color you can do this on the second repeat of the design starting at row 2 when you are moving up. Change color on Row 2, you will use the new color throughout the repeat on the even number rows. Row 1: 02:25 Row 2: 04:30 Row 3: 06:28 Row END: 10:49 Row 4: 12:00 Row 5: 15:08 Row 6: 19:02 Row 7: 22:34 Row 8: 25:33 Row 9: 28:54 Row 10: 32:02 Row 11: 35:17 Row 12: 38:19 Row 13: 41:25 Row 14: 44:34 Row 15: 47:44 Row 16: 50:33 Row 17: 54:00 Row 18: 57:17 Row 19: 01:00:44 Row 20: 01:03:56 Row 21: 01:07:28 Row 22: 01:10:38 Row 23: 01:14:28 Row 24: 01:17:58 Row 25: 01:20:59 Row 26: 01:24:28 Row 27: 01:25:38 REPEAT ROWS 2 through 27 to grow your project. Work the end of any project by completing your repeat (row 27 in color A), then work a sc row in color A as well as your final row. PROJECT IDEAS FOR WORKING FLAT - Suggested starting chains for various projects - counts include 4 at end: Baby blanket: 100 chains depending on yarn size used (4 repeats wide) Place mats: 52 chains (2 repeats of design on row, size shown in video) Table Runner: 52 chains for total width of table runner, you will then work the repeats to obtain the total length for your table. Throw blanket : 172 chains Tote or Throw Pillow: 52 chains depending on yarn size used and desired size, create 2 and seam together Scarf/Wrap: 28 chains for a thin scarf or 52 chains for a wide scarf or wrap. I recommend size 3 light weight yarn or smaller for scarves, shawls, wraps. IN THE ROUND Makeup or Notions bag/ Clutch: 48 or 72 chains depending on yarn and hook used Throw Pillow: 20“ to 24“ depending on yarn size used, tension and hook: chain 96 Large Bag/Tote/Pillow: 144 chains for large tote/bag You can create any project you like in Mosaic Crochet! HOOK SIZE: 4mm in this tutorial, this is a Nelsonwood Hook with Pink Ivory Wood & Pink Star Flower #/ I recommend using the below hook sizes depending on yarn used: 3 DK yarn : to Size 4 Medium/worsted weight: to . Mixing 3 & 4 weight: to THE YARN: I'm using size 3 weight yarn, any brand will work as well as any size. In the video I am using Cygnet Dk in Cream for color A, Stylecraft Special DK in Dandelion Note on mixing yarn sizes 3 (DK) & Size 4 (Medium Worsted weight): THE TRICK TO MIXING YARN SIZES IS JUST KEEPING YOUR TENSION EVEN AND USING THE SMALLEST SIZE HOOK RECOMMENDED FOR THE SMALLER YARN! Project info and starting: To begin your project you will chain in multiples of 24 plus 4 at the end to work a flat piece. You will skip the first chain and begin working in the second chain from the hook, ending up with an odd number of stitches. EXAMPLE: I chained 52 and had 51 stitches at the end of my first Row. TO WORK IN THE ROUND: chain in multiples of 24 and slip stitch to the first chain. begin working the repeat in the first stitch [same stitch you slip stitches into) and follow the Repeat as given in the video.
