⏳‘Hell on earth.’ That’s what the Germans called Stalingrad. The fiercest battles were fought over the city. For 200 days there were no pauses or truce — battles were fought continuously. It was here that the Soviet troops finally succeeded in ending Hitler’s offensive — and hit back hard. The counter-offensive of the Red Army began on 19 November 1942. The subject of our film, Vitaly Kolesov, participated in it. He was among the first wave of volunteers who went to the front. In October, Vitaly turned 101 years old. Listen to the war memories of this hero in an excerpt from ’Eternal Heroes’ by Lidia Vasilevskaya and Ekaterina Kozhakina. #history FOLLOW ? News&Docfilms Channel Source: RT Documentary
