On Monday, a magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck the Chinese province of Gansu. The epicenter was at a depth of about 10 kilometers, 102 kilometers from Lanzhou. Tremors were also recorded in neighboring Qinghai province. The earthquake occurred at 23:59 local time. Some people woke up and ran out into the street. Dozens of houses were damaged as a result of the earthquake. Residents post videos of the natural disaster on social networks. Rescue teams were sent to the affected areas. There is no official information about the casualties yet. Aftershocks are likely in the coming days.
