Residents of Spain suffered from extreme weather! An active cyclone that developed over the western Mediterranean caused an outbreak of convective weather in the southern and southeastern provinces of Spain. Spain's state meteorological agency has issued a storm warning for hail of 4cm or more and heavy rain that could bring up to 80mm of rain. within an hour. According to the Royal Meteorological Agency, 68 mm of rain fell there in a few hours. Heavy rains triggered flash flooding in the city, inundating streets and cars parked on them, and several cars were washed away by raging water. The emergency coordination center received about 50 reports of flooding. Heavy hail fell in some areas of the province and a water well was seen to descend to the ground, causing extensive damage and uprooting many trees, including farm gardens in the municipality of Pliego.
