While stuck at home during the pandemic, I found myself watching countless guitar videos on YouTube and was consequently inspired to pick up my sister's old, neglected acoustic for the first time. I knew from the start that I wanted to play electric, but I started out acoustic because that's what we had at home. My progress has been mostly self teaching, with about 2 months of (online) classical lessons in between. I definitely practiced the most and made the most progress in the first month, when I stuck with learning just 2-3 difficult finger style songs (eg. my heart will go on). I would literally just play each part over and over again until i kinda got it and could move on to next part and by the end, I basically memorized it.
