Music video for my cover of 'Killer' I remember in 1990 hearing the original version of “Killer“. The thing that struck me most was the incredible sound it had; energised with Adamski’s array of clever keyboard sounds and Seal’s mind-blowing vocals. I’ve done cover versions before, but only on a live set. “Killer“ is the first one that I've actually released. I wanted to stay faithful to the original - with just a few tweaks here and there. For the meaty bass line I used my Yamaha DJX - and used various VSTs, including the Ensoniq, Minimoog. For the strings it was a mixture, with the Krakli S3 overlayed over the top. All of this was then mixed and produced in Mixcraft 8 Pro Studio. For the vocals, they were sung by the excellent Aliz Smith. As a footnote I can recall in 1987 observing an Ensoniq ESQ-1 keyboard in all its glory. I would've of loved to have owned it - but the price of £1500 was bang out of my budget.
