France has been hit by storms and temperatures are expected to drop by 10-15C after record highs for the season In a city in the south-east of France, more than 10 cm of hail gathered on the ground when a strong storm hit the area. the episode continued to cover the town of Gap in the Upper Alps with a blanket of icy debris, the thickness of which in some places was 15 cm. The local government of Gaup said its services were called in to clear several streets of fallen trees, hail and other debris, while Le Dauphiné libéré reported that 130 streets experienced power cuts. However, there are 40 departments that have issued a yellow warning for storms and, in some cases, flooding. The affected departments are mainly in the east, extreme south and southwest of France.
