On this .375 Holland and Holland we start with a 2“ Krieger barrel blank, a Granite Mountain Arms actions, and a piece of English walnut. We then fit it to the receiver, and machine integral front and rear sight ramps, recoil lug, and sling swivel. After making a pattern stock we machine the English walnut blank into the general shape of the finished stock on a stock duplicator. It's then hand inletted, shaped and finished. The wrap around checkering is done at 24LPI and finished with a mullered border. The slow rust blue finish is applied next to the hand polished metal work. This process takes a week to complete, alternating between applying an acid to the metal work to cause rust, boiling the parts, and carding off the excess.
