From the Roadburn festival website: “Portuguese five-piece Sinistro might be a new name even for the Roadburn lifers among you, and a cursory glance at their website and social media pages won’t reveal too much, either. Captured in mostly black and white environments, there is a group of faceless figures lurking in the shadows, vague shots of landscapes that could be either urban or rural. Not even their merch gives too much away, the triangular shapes perhaps hinting at something that you won’t ever be sure of what it is. You won’t find live photos or videos because they have never played live before. The name of the band, the Portuguese word for “sinister”, suggests that all of this elusiveness is intentional, which is confirmed when, ultimately, even Sinistro‘s music won’t hold any definitive answers. Just more questions – evocative, frightening and astoundingly beautiful questions. The entire anti-image of Sinistro is very captiva
