China's foreign ministry said on Tuesday that the Canadian military plane intercepted on Monday violated China's sovereignty and national security, and it has lodged diplomatic protests with Canada. “A Canadian CP-140 aircraft illegally intruded into the airspace of Chiwei Yu, an island affiliated to China's Diaoyu Islands, seriously violating China's sovereignty and threatening China's national security,“ said ministry spokesperson Mao Ning. She added that the “Canadian military aircraft traveled thousands of miles to China's doorstep to provoke trouble.“ Global's Neetu Garcha was on board the aircraft operating in international airspace off the coast of China when it was intercepted by a Chinese military jet, using maneuvers that Defence Minister Bill Blair calls “dangerous and reckless.“ For more info, please go to Subscribe to Glob
