More than 1000 houses went underground! Terrible M6.9 earthquake struck Papua New Guinea Around 1000 homes have been destroyed following a 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck a remote part of western Papua New Guinea. The governor of East Sepik stated that the earthquake has caused damage to a significant portion of the province. Rescue and relief efforts are underway to assist affected communities and provide necessary support. Authorities are assessing the extent of the damage and coordinating response efforts to address the aftermath of the earthquake. Naturals hazards in 2023 have become more frequent.
