“Star Trek: The Cold Enemy“ is a side-scrolling platform shooter. During a mission to the mysterious planet Psi 20, Starship Enterprise is captured by the Klingons, leaving Captain Kirk trapped on the surface of the planet. The player takes control of Scotty, the ship’s engineer, who has to find a way to save his comrades. Like other games of its kind, the gameplay involves running, shooting and jumping between platforms. Scotty is equipped with an energy weapon (which can be upgraded with spread shots) to fight the bad guys and can duck to avoid their fire. Additionally, there are grenades that can be thrown. The game also has some puzzle-solving elements as Scotty has to activate and deactivate force fields to progress. While on mission to investigate a mysterious planet, Captain Kirk’s starship Enterprise is captured by Klingon warriors, leaving him trapped on the ship’s bridge. In a race against time, Scotty must solve the mystery of Psi 20 and find a way to save his trapped comrades! Set in the original series era, players take on the role of the ship’s engineer, Scotty, and race through 6 levels of fast paced, side scrolling action! To rescue the remainder of the crew and ultimately regain control of the Enterprise, you will engage in a dangerous journey of intense fighting sequences. Travelling from the Enterprise, to the exotic planet surface and through foreboding underground caverns you’ll encounter enemies both familiar and new! Blast evil robotic life forms with your phaser, use your wits and escape deadly enemy traps. You must keep one step ahead of the dangers around you to recapture the Enterprise and reclaim the ship from the Klingons!
