Supporters of Julian Assange, the Australian native who has been held in HM Prison Belmarsh in Southeast London since April 2019 awaiting an extradition request from the US government, gathered in Sydney to mark and celebrate his 52nd birthday. During the rally, the participants held ‘Free Assange’ and ’Happy Birthday’ banners, sang ’happy birthday’ and blew out candles on a cake in his honor.
