Poland says a Russian missile entered Polish airspace amid a large-scale missile attack on Ukraine by Moscow on December 29. Poland's armed forces chief Gen Wieslaw Kukula said the missile travelled about 40 km into Polish airspace early on Friday. The alert coincided with what Ukraine has called Russia's biggest day of air strikes since its war began, killing at least 30 people. Two Polish and two American F-16s were scrambled from bases in Poland, as well as an allied air tanker, due to the activity of long-range Russian aircraft. However, Polish jets failed to intercept and take down the missile in time.
