Images are recorded in 1994 in Cluj - Romania. Eugene Ionesco’s play The Chairs was performed in several unconventional places. This recording was made in the courtyard of the French Cultural Centre. The premiere took place in a forest near Cluj in 1993 and it started at 4 a.m. in order to reach its end at dawn. The performance suffered changes in acting and directing every time it was performed in a new location. There were about 15 performances that took place.
