Check out the cool parallax motion graphics that we made for the Russian Geographical Society. Inst: Historical background: almost 80 years ago there was a terrible maritime disaster. On the 7 of November in 1941, the motor ship Armenia was sunk by German aircraft 15 miles from Yalta. According to various estimates, there were from 4,500 to 10,000 people on board. For comparison, 1635 people died on the Titanic. In 2020, the ship was discovered at a depth of 1.5 thousand meters, since then the Center for Underwater Research of the Russian Geographical Society has been conducting the project “Motor ship Armenia. Remember everyone.“ The goal is to compile the People's List of Names and investigate the circumstances of the tragedy. To support the project, we have brought life to the remaining historical photos, perpetuating the memory of a huge number of victims.
