This short footage is by far the only known visual recording that shows composer Erich Wolfgang Korngold at the piano. It was recorded for the promo trailer for the 1934 Max Reinhardt movie “A Midsummernight's Dream“. The short film “A Dream Comes True“ presented in almost 8 minutes the all star cast and (world!) famous people of that time who worked behind the cameras, like Korngold. The famous composer was asked to arrange the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy music of A Midsummernight's Dream, based on the play by William Shakespeare for the movie. This clip also shows him playing in his intimate, original and orchestral way... way to short! Watch the “A Dream Comes True“ Promo Trailer (with some extra Korngold-Seconds!)
