In this video, we start in Le Locle on a line completed in 1860, connecting Neuchâtel with France via La Chaux-de-Fonds, however in La Chaux-de-Fonds, we will deviate onto the line to Biel, which was completed in 1874. Normally the line to Le Locle is served by trains from Neuchâtel, but due to construction work, the trains from Biel were operating all the way to Le Locle. For those who'd like to see the line to Neuchâtel, here is the link: • ★ 4K 🇨🇭La Chaux-de-Fonds - Neuchâtel ... ). Before the opening of the Grenchenberg line in 1915, that we've looked at previously (link: • ★ 4K 🇨🇭Tilt train Biel - Moutier - De... ), the part of the line between Biel and Sonceboz-Sombeval served as the international connection between Biel - Moutier - Delémont - Delle - Belfort. Afterwards, it was downgraded to a branch line. Enjoy the scenery as we descend close to 600 metres on our journey through the Jura mountains from the French border to the city of Biel. We will change from Summer to winter in La Chaux-de-Fonds. We hope you enjoyed the video. If you'd like to support us, please click the following link.
