The New Year is officially here, which means it’s time to start setting some New Year’s Resolutions. Let’s dive into the research and explore why we set New Year’s resolutions, why most of them fail, and what we can do to succeed. Sticking to your New Year's Resolutions is difficult because it requires changing your behavior for a long period of time. You can't just commit to your resolution for a few days and then expect to see lasting results. You want to start by setting resolutions. Once you have a clear picture of what you are trying to accomplish, you can better plan out the steps you need to take to get there. Once you have a plan, don't rely on motivation to get you to stick with it, focus on building systems instead. Make it easy to stick with your resolution and make it hard to fail. Commit fully to it and make your resolution part of your identity. Now all that's left to do is to stick with it. Keep defining and re-adjusting your plan. Keep creating and refining your systems. Keep reminding yourself of the person that you want to become. If you can do that, I'm positive this will be a great year! 💌 Sign up for my weekly newsletter - 🌍 Website & blog - 📸 Instagram - 🐦 Twitter - 🗣️ Facebook - 🎥 My Youtube Gear: 👀 Hand-Picked Productivity Tools: 🎵My Study Playlist: TIMESTAMPS: 00:00 Introduction 00:30 Why Do We Set New Year’s Resolutions? 01:55 Why Is It So Hard to Keep Our Resolutions? 02:45 How Can We Keep Our Resolutions? 02:51 Set Resolutions 04:20 Don’t Bite Off More Than You Can Chew 05:43 Don’t Rely on Motivation, Focus on Building Systems Instead 06:51 Make Your Resolutions a Part of Your Identity 07:33 Don’t Let The Setbacks Derail You LINKS FROM VIDEO: Four Things You're Doing Wrong During the Holidays: Ultimate Guide to Building New Habits - ATOMIC HABITS Book Summary (Part 1): #NewYearsResolution #productivity #habits ==================== Disclaimer: Content of this video is my opinion and does not constitute medical advice.
