Tales of Witchcraft & Wonder virtual book launch, 24/10/2020 ~ On Saturday, October 24, 2020, a virtual book launch was held in the Tudor buildings of The Folk of Gloucester, 99-103 Westgate Street, for the 'Tales of Witchcraft & Wonder' book CD, by Candia & Tony McKormack, The founder members of Inkubus Sukkubus discussed the folklore that inspired some of the songs written over the last 31 years, from the saltwater song of Sabrina to a dark tale of stranded merfolk, and the beguiling effects of the datura plant. They were joined by band mates Roland Link on bass, Marcus Gilvear on drums - and Nick Gibbs virtually on violin from locked-down Nottingham, due to Covid-19 restrictions - to play a selection of some of the songs from the Tales of Witchcraft & Wonder trilogy of albums. Gareth Jayne of Gloucester Civic Trust also gave a short tour of the building's fascinating 500-year history, from its association with the martyred Bishop Hooper to its days as a pin factory.
