It still baffles me that Montreux hosts one of *the* jazz festivals. Surely jazz is almost by definition everything Switzerland isn't. Two fine sets from a bunch of musicians who, you can tell, are really enjoying playing together. With some of the best jazz flugelhorn I for one have ever come across. Side 1 1. For You (Burke/Dubin) 2. Autumn Leaves (Kosma/Prevert/Mercer) Side 2 1. 1f I Had You (Shapiro/Campbell/Connelly) 2. I Never Knew (That Roses Grew) (Fiorito/Kahn) Personnel: Benny Carter — Alto Sax Roy Eldridge — Trumpet Zoot Sims — Tenor Sax Clark Terry — Trumpet & Flugelhorn Joe Pass — Guitar Tommy Flanagan — Piano Keter Betts — Bass Bobby Durham — Drums Produced by Norman Granz Recorded at the Montreux Jazz Festival July 16th, 1975
