Sapa is situated in a beautiful valley of Vietnam’s mountainous north close to the Chinese border. Sapa is surrounded by ethnic tribe villages. I take a trek with Mimi a Black Hmong lady to her village about 14 km from Sapa. I walked slowly taking in the spectacular views on the way. When we arrived at Mimi’s home her children were home from school so I declined her invitation to go in as I didn’t want to intrude on the family. Mimi showed me around her village instead and told me the story of her arranged marriage.. Then Mimi got me a motor bike taxi to take me back to Sapa. A fantastic day.
