Large scale fires could be used behind and around enemy postions to force enemy troops to flee defensive positions within forest bands. The exposed forces would make easy targets for Russian aviation and artillery. And riding in the wake of these fires, Russian soldiers could quickly advance westward up to 25 km directly into southern outskirts of Krasny Liman.
