Tell Me I’m Your Girl’ is a sarcastic love song about all the tacky things we want when falling in love, as GIMMY (aka Gemma Owens) explains; “I love romance, all the chaos and honesty of it, not just the shining stuff but all the grit as well. This song is a tacky picture of what I think a lot of people desire — to be treated like royalty and be paid for — but when you’re young, you can only really afford cheap cheese and wine from Woolworths haha”.
