That Certain Party (Kahn-Donaldson) played by “The Southerners” Gennett 3204 (78 rpm record) Brian Rust, in his Jazz Records discography, states that the personnel are unknown for this recording, but that it might share something in common with Judd Hill's Blue Devils, and nothing in common with Eddie Edwards' band of 1926, “Eddie Edwards and his Southerners.“ Rust gives a recording date of November 26, 1925, according to the studio's records. Johnson & Shirley (American Dance Bands on Record and Film 1915 – 1942) have a little more information on it. They don’t state it explicitly, but they give the impression that they also examined the studio files from Gennett. They give the following personnel: Bill Moore (cornet); unknown trombone; Bobby Davis (clarinet, sop sax, alto sax); Second unknown clarinet, sop sax, alto sax; unknown tenor sax; possibly two unknown piano players; possibly Roy Atkinson (banjo); unknown brass bass; Murray Wachsman (“Waxy”)
