Fashion designer Zuhair Murad’s recent Marrakech trip enchanted him, describing the city as cosmopolitan yet rooted in tradition. Inspired by the Moroccan experience, he merged heritage with modernity. In his Beirut atelier, Murad blended his own style with Yves Saint Laurent’s influence and indigenous patterns from tattoos to tiles, crafting opulent pieces from sequined silk. Complex embroideries, including a leopard-print jacket, showcased his meticulous work. The runway featured mosaic motifs on gowns, caped ensembles, and even a pantsuit, though the show’s length left room for improvement. Murad’s bridal creations, up to 10 a month, culminated in an ivory gown adorned with crystal and sequin floral patterns, fit for royalty.
