Baldemar Huerta, AKA The Be-Bop Kid AKA Freddy Fender! Later re-recorded in 1975, it became a huge hit. Here he is at only 22 years old, originally released on the small “Duncan” label; it was picked up by Imperial in 1960 for “national distribution.” I favor this original version over the 1975 re recording. This one has all the rawness and the feeling one could ever need.
