Pump

This is an antique watch and clockmaker's pump drill. It has a brass flywheel that helps to maintain momentum. The hard part, as you can see, is keeping the amount of wobble as low as possible. I'm using a spade bit here and it makes holes equally well in wood or brass. This tool is still listed in the Bergeon & Cie catalog (#1312-30) That's not an endorsement - just an interesting fact that a prehistoric tool is still sold, and presumably used. There are no batteries to wear out!!
