If there’s one type of person we can turn to for sanity, it’s a Minecraft Twitch streamer. Unable to gain clout from nudity because of a recent Twitch ban (and also because Minecraft players and nudity don’t really go), many streamers have turned to riskier stunts to up their viewer count. On Monday evening, Twitch streamer Bodiggles was doing... whatever it is you do in Minecraft (mining and crafting?) when he noticed a weird smell in his room, suspecting it could be gas. Announcing ‘Methane check!’ Bodiggles clicked a lighter on, and viewers were met with a screen full of flames for a second before the stream cut out. Bodiggles later posted to X to say that he and his cats were ‘fine’, and said that God was ‘clutch’. He also posted a few pictures, which appeared to be taken from a hospital room. Nightmare-inducing as all this is, many viewers are convinced the explosion was a fake, pointing out that the fireball could have easily been added with simple video editing software. They also pointed to a similar case less than a month earlier, involving a different streamer, forks and toasters, which was later found to have been faked. Real or not, it seems the explosion worked wonders for Bodiggles’ profile, getting him millions more views than usual. The internet is divided on whether the explosion was genuine, and now so are you guys in the comments
