World Trade Center in the Movies

The Twin Towers appeared in close to 700 movies. They were the quintessential New York City backdrop. Often relegated to cameo appearances. But sometimes they played a major role (ie. King Kong). Their destruction was so unthinkable that they'd often meet their fictitious demise with tongue in cheek (ie. Independence Day). We thought they'd be around forever - long after we were gone (ie. Artificial Intelligence - AI). Many stars shared the screen with the World Trade Center. Nobody could upstage the towers. Not Jack Nicholson. Not Tom Hanks. Not even Miss Piggy. Remember the towers. But more importantly, remember all those who perished inside. And the heroes who gave their lives on a rescue mission.
