Climbing Mount Everest is a thrilling but dangerous adventure for trekkers. Unfortunately death on Everest happens and is a heart breaking ending for climbers and their family. However, when someone dies while climbing Everest, it isn't the end of their journey. As the dead usually end up being frozen and left on the mountain. As of 2022 there are at least 200 dead bodies on Everest. The sad part is that many of the families can not afford to bring their loved one's body down from the tallest mountain in the world. This is because a retrieval mission can cost upwards of USD 70,000! With over 200 dead bodies frozen on Mount Everest in Nepal, the sight of witnessing a frozen body in the death zone on Everest, and towards the summit are increasing. Whereas, Lhakpa Sherpa, saw eight dead bodies during her summit push in 2018. Nepal, and China are becoming more and more aware of the issue of dead bodies on Everest. So much so that they have begun developing plans to retrieve some of the people that have died on the mountain. Although plans are being made, some climbers as well as Nepalis in general do not believe this will be enough - as they know death on Everest will continue for years to come. This video discusses what has happened to the dead bodies on Everest, as well as how many and why people have faced death on Mount Everest. So, what happens to the bodies on Everest? Watch on to find out! Check out my blog that goes into depth about this video: #everest #trekking #mounteverest #deathoneverest
