On May 3rd, 2023, the tranquil region of Emilia Romagna in Italy was struck by a sudden and severe flood, causing widespread damage and leaving several people stranded. The Vigili del Fuoco, Italy's fire and rescue department, sprang into action and reported 400 interventions due to flooding and landslides in the region. The Lamone River in Faenza, in the province of Ravenna, saw an embankment fail, resulting in over 250 people evacuating their homes. In the Metropolitan City of Bologna, the Monzuno and Castel San Pietro communes experienced flooding, leading to more evacuations. Twelve residents in Dovadola comune in the Province of Forlì-Cesena were also evacuated as a precaution due to a landslide. #flooding #italy #flood
