Anti-Israel protesters found themselves caught up in a counterprotest at the University of California, Los Angeles when pro-Israeli demonstrators turned up to remove them from campus. The counter-protest was itself met with a fierce counter-counter-protest, eventually descending into an all-out brawl involving firework artillery and possibly bear mace. Videos from the scene show the protest well and truly lost to chaos, with at least one firework being launched at people from the Israeli side and a cloud of gas looming over the Palestinian side. At least one person has been treated by paramedics, according to local media. The protests remain ongoing into the early hours of Wednesday morning as police prepare a response to bring the situation under control, as confirmed by Mayor Karen Bass. The scenes at UCLA mirror those on the East Coast, where a nearly two-week protest has seen New York’s Columbia University brought to a standstill, which resulted in heavy police action. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Freedom over censorship, truth over narrative.
