For NASA’s Commercial Resupply Services-2 (CRS-2) NG-21 mission, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched the CRS-21 Cygnus spacecraft, dubbed S.S. Francis R. “Dick” Scobee, from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on 4 August 2024, at 15:02 UTC (11:02 EDT). The NG-21 Cygnus delivers nearly 3,720 kg (nearly 8,200 pounds) of supplies to the International Space Station and is scheduled to be captured with the station’s robotic arm on 6 August 2024, around 07:10 UTC (03:10 EDT). The NG-21 Cygnus Cargo Delivery Spacecraft is named after the former NASA astronaut Francis R. “Dick” Scobee. Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage landed at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station Landing Zone 1 (LZ-1). Falcon 9’s first stage (B1080) previously supported 9 missions: Ax-2, ESA Euclid, Ax-3, CRS-30, ASTRA 1P and 4 Starlink missions. Credit: NASA/Northrop Grumman/SpaceX #Cygnus
