‘JUST THE TWO OF US’ The Big Noise Project feat. Josh Taylor Citizens of planet internet! Stop scrolling for a second and indulge us in taking a little break from despairing about the troubles of the world and the future of humanity, and just sit back and enjoy some cracking music for 3 minutes. This week we’ve got a little ball of sunshine for you in the form of Bill Withers’ - JUST THE TWO OF US! Bill Withers is one of my absolute favourite songwriters (he only wrote the lyrics to this one though, with the instrumental track by Grover Washington already existing), and I could (and have done, many a time) spend a whole day just blissfully listening to his whole catalogue. Sadly, I didn’t really know about the existence of Bill Withers until I was in my 20’s, and for an embarrassing number of years, I was sure this was a bonafide Will Smith original if ever there was one! Whoops. But hey, I got where I needed eventually, and this song actually became a staple in any gig I played for a good decade, and last year, I got the chance to actually mess about with it a bit for a big project I was working on and put a bit of myself in it, whilst still keeping fairly true to the original and not going as extreme off the deep end, as I have been known to do with other songs…. Anyway, this here is the result, and it features one of my best pals, and Big Noise Project artist with the shortest commute to the studio - Josh Taylor! Friends, take a few minutes, relax and jam with us, your smiles are guaranteed. Full Video out now on YouTube!
