Thank you all for viewing and comments! ✽ All the best! Mildred Anne Butler 1859-1941 Ireland/Plein-Air Brief Biography-Mildred Anne Butler was from Thomaston, Kilkenny, Ireland. She studied in Brussels, Paris and London. Her first significant exhibitions were at the Royal Society of Painters in watercolours, and she was made an associate member in 1896. She spent time painting in Cornwall and became linked with the Newlyn School art colony. In Ireland, she exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy and became a member of the Ulster Academy of Arts in 1930. In 1937, she was made a full member of the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours. In her home county of Kilkenny, the Museum of Art was renamed the Butler Gallery as a tribute to her work.
