The King and Queen of England have arrived in Kenya amid allegations of abuse directed at British soldiers. King Charles and Queen consort Camilla landed in the country for an official state visit which will formally begin on Wednesday. It comes as Kenyan Police stopped a news conference from taking place which was intended to highlight allegations of human rights and environmental abuses by British troops. The allegations include the murder of a Kenyan woman who was last seen alive at a hotel with British soldiers. Agnes Wanjiku was a 21-year-old Kenyan woman murdered in March 2012 and her niece Esther Njoki has extended an invitation for King Charles to meet with her and her family to “come to our aid by bringing attention and urgency to the case of Agnes Wanjiku’s murder”. “Our family needs justice, our family needs closure – Your Majesty, please do the right thing,” she told Sky News.
