Titles read: “Have you a good skull? Here's a new way of judging beauty - by James Montgomery Flagg, the famous American Artist.“ Location of events unknown. Various shots of American artist / illustrator James Montgomery Flagg drawing a portrait of a young woman. He explains that real beauty in a human being must start with the proper formation of the skull. The girl is briefly seen with light directly overhead, so that shadows are cast in the skull, below the cheekbones and nose. He talks to camera as he sketches, referring to this model as one of the wood-nymph or elfin type of beauties. He cites Catherine (Katherine ?) Dale Owen as one of the classical beauty types. The finished portrait shows the girl looking rather more sultry than she looks in the film. James turns to the camera and says “If you're looking for a beauty, and you want her to last, pick yourself a good skull“.
