Incessant heavy rains have devastated Gujarat, submerging numerous low-lying areas and leading to a tragic death toll of eight, with seven others reported missing due to rain-related incidents. Significant rainfall was recorded across the state within 24 hours — Baroda received 28 cm, Ahmedabad 12 cm, and Surat 4 cm.
