Let’s start with version 2.7. We have two new characters: Sunday and 5-star Tingyun. We’ve recently received new info about their kits, so let’s take a look, and then we’ll talk about the reruns in this version. Sunday is a 5-star Harmony character with the Imaginary element. His kit focuses on making his team stronger, especially by boosting CRIT damage and supporting summon mechanics. His basic attack deals Imaginary damage to a single target, but his Skill is where it gets interesting. Benison of Paper and Rites lets an ally and their summon act immediately and boosts their damage by up to 50%. This works great for characters like Jing Yuan or Topaz with summons. Fugue is a 5-star Nihility character with a Fire element focus. She excels at weakness breaking and applying debuffs, making her great for teams that focus on breaking down enemy defenses. Her kit is built around boosting Weakness Break efficiency and debuffing enemies to increase team damage. Her basic attack, Radiant Streak, deals Fire damage to a single target. When she enters her Torrid Scorch state, her attack becomes Fiery Caress, hitting the target and nearby enemies—perfect for AoE damage when enemies are grouped together. Now, let’s talk about the likely rerun characters in version 2.7. I believe we’ll see the first-ever Firefly rerun along with Jing Yuan. The reason I think Jing Yuan might return here is that HoYoverse tends to spread out synergies across banners to encourage players to pull for both new characters and reruns. By rerunning Jing Yuan, they ensure that players who pull for Sunday also have a reason to go for a character that benefits from Sunday’s energy generation and crit boosts. Adding Firefly to the mix keeps the rerun banner fresh and exciting, especially for those who missed her initial release. It seems like a smart strategy to get players pulling for both new characters and reruns, unlike genshin. Personally, I didn’t play Honkai Star Rail when Firefly was first released, so I’ll definitely be trying to get both Fugue and Firefly in 2.7. It’s going to be tough, but I’m excited to finally get her on my team! In 3.0, we’ll have two new characters. The first is 5-star Herta, and we already have some details about her kit, so let’s take a look. Now, let’s move on to Aglaea, who’s also coming in patch 3.0. Aglaea is a new 5-star Ice Destruction character coming in 3.0.
