Most Wanted reimagined in Unreal Engine! Here is the cutscene of 15th blacklist event against Sonny's Golf GTI. Wallpapers available here: -What is this in a nutshell? It is a reimagination of Most Wanted, made in Unreal Engine as a video render. Every piece from car mods, materials, environment, particles, color grading to sound effects are done by myself. This is the biggest project I have done so far, preparing a full gameplay & cutscene video using a great arsenal of tools and packs. I have reimagined and modelled a custom body kit for Sonny's Golf GTI, to update and keep the vehicle fresh. As for the protagonist's starting vehicle, I thought Cobalt SS is a great option from the original game, since NFSMW was pretty much its debut in video games(also it was my first time seeing it). For the materials and shading, It was really important for me to get that hyper-realistic look. So I have used my “Automotive Extras“ pack(available in Unreal Engine Marketplace)(this was a shameless plug) and some other methods I have seen online. I have created the surrounding environment in 3DS Max, by utilizing lots of assets from Quixel Megascans Library(even their brand new trees!), then attempted to create the environment on a realistic scale, to capture the real challenging nature of speeding. Also, adding pedestrians was a great way to emphasize the liveliness of the scene. I wanted to get that authentic NFSMW grime, bleachy, yellowish green tinge, dull blues and loads of glow type of look but with a modern touch. This was very significant since it is an important part of the game itself back in the day as well. The color grading was done in post in Davinci Resolve. For the UI elements, I wanted to keep the old graffiti/grime menu style of NFSMW, while implementing it to todays menu style of NFSs. Also added subtle hints about how a future realistic street racing game would have be like. Like player speeding, crashing, staking with pink slips, getting caught to cops having big consequences. Overall, I am super happy with how it turned out, and hope you like it too!
