Every once in a while life gives us the opportunity to have a full circle moment and give back to something that has given us so much. When I lived in Toronto I used to sneak out from my day job at MuchMusic on my lunch break and volunteer at the library at Toronto Sick Kids Hospital. I would sit for an hour and read with the kids and we would run around the library acting like squirrels and weird frogs and just generally make the library staff nuts. It was the brightest spot of my day and gave me so much happiness to share my love of storytelling with the tiniest most courageous people I know. I had the opportunity through Bookaboo and First Book Canada to have 1,000 children’s books donated and there was no question in my heart of where I wanted those books to go. It is an emotional and wonderful moment to be able to thank the hospital and kids in some small way for all that they gave me with these incredible books.
