So far, Israel has k*lled more than 40,000 Palestinians since 7 October and as many as 186,000 as of early July, according to the Lancet medical journal. Hedges, a former New York Times bureau chief in West Asia among other places, also called out Western leaders and Western universities for their hypocrisy and censorship attempts amidst pro-Palestine protests in their countries.
