***links to all videos below*** A part video-essay, part-tutorial on kinestasis or graphic stopmotion, a technique which creates the illusion of motion through the quick succession of images and photographs, related or unrelated to each other. It is different from conventional stopmotion as it does not involve an object that is controlled or moved by an animator. I first came across this technique last year in a music video made by Paraic McGloughlin for Weval. Since then, I have seen this technique being used more and more, in varying ways, but it's only recently that I learnt what it's called (or at least I think that's what it's called!).
