Syrian troops celebrated the liberation of the town of Salma in the Latakia Province, Wednesday, after Government forces along with former anti-government detachments retook the town from the al-Qaida-linked al-Nusra Front militant group. The Syrian Arab Army launched an operation to locate and combat any remaining opposition fighters remaining in Salma after state forces had reportedly seized control of the strategically important city earlier in the week and are now consolidating their control.
