Balloon flowers, or Platycodon grandiflorus is a species of herbaceous flowering perennial plant of the family Campanulaceae, and the only member of the genus Platycodon, It is commonly known as balloon flower (referring to the balloon-shaped flower buds). In Japan, known as kikyo, the star-shaped blooms represent the five elements of Taoism. The Victorian language of flowers interprets these flowers as symbols of endless love and honesty.
