Santa Esmeralda's third album was released in July 1978, just six months after House Of The Rising Sun. It was a somewhat sinister concept album of original material, written by producer Nicolas Skorsky with lyrics by Steve Krikorian, side 1 centered around the cynical Wages Of Sin contrasted by the interlude Danse De La Beauté, side 2 concluding that Only Beauty Survives, followed by the épilogue Learning The Game. The album's closing track was a version of the Jimi Hendrix hit, Hey Joe. The album, although still a healthy seller in Europe and South America, peaked at a disappointing #178 in the US charts and yielded no hit singles for the group.
